Many of the benefits we receive from living near the Gulf of Mexico are dependent on the health of our bays and estuaries. The vision of the Coastal Bend Bays & Estuaries Program is to maintain healthy bays and estuaries that provide aesthetic, recreational and economic values.
Throughout the 12 counties of the Coastal Bend from Aransas National Wildlife Refuge to the Laguna Madre land cut, the estuaries program staff plans and implements projects to study, improve, preserve and restore habitats. These projects directly address those actions outlined in the Coastal Bend Bays Plan, the program’s guiding document.
