Step outside the meeting room and into the living landscape that makes the Texas Coastal Bend so special. These field trips are designed to showcase the natural beauty of the coastal landscape, while highlighting the value of our projects and ongoing habitat restoration efforts in action.

FIELD TRIP #1 – Birding the Bend: Join us for a guided field trip led by CBBEP’s experienced Coastal Bird Program staff. Explore the rich birdlife of the Coastal Bend while learning about local habitats, conservation efforts, and the species that depend on this unique region—while checking off birds from your list along the way.

We will stop at several spots on the Island, including the Packery Flats Coastal Habitat to visit some of CBBEP’s on-the-ground work. We will wrap up the tour at the Port Aransas Nature Preserve, where you’ll experience one of the region’s premier and most picturesque birding destinations.

FIELD TRIP #3 – Aransas Bay Boat Trip: Participate in a scenic boat excursion showcasing oyster mariculture and restoration efforts and cruise near the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, with the chance to observe CBBEP’s shoreline protection efforts—and maybe even spot a wintering Whooping Crane along the way.
