2026 ANEP Tech Transfer Meeting – Abstract Submission Instructions
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2026 ANEP Tech Transfer Meeting, which will be held October 20–22, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas. The meeting will focus on sharing practical tools, innovative approaches, lessons
learned, and transferable strategies that support estuary management and restoration across the National Estuary Program network.

Presentation topics should be aligned with the technical sessions listed below:
SESSION 1: Turning Monitoring Data into Management Decisions
Focus on how NEPs are using long-term monitoring, remote sensing, and modeling to directly inform restoration priorities, CCMP updates, and resilience planning.
Possible topics:
- Water quality trend analysis
- HAB monitoring and forecasting
- Living shoreline performance monitoring and adaptive management
- Data visualization and dashboards
- Turning biological monitoring into habitat protection and restoration priorities
- Tools and techniques for translating science into policy decisions
SESSION 2: Emerging Science and Technology for Estuary Management
A forward-looking session focused on new tools and methods.
Possible topics:
- eDNA applications
- AI-assisted habitat mapping
- Drone and satellite monitoring
- Continuous water quality sensors
- Microplastics and emerging contaminants research and monitoring tools and techniques
SESSION 4: Watershed Based Approaches for Nutrient and Bacteria Reduction
Focus on transferable strategies that improve estuary water quality at the watershed scale.

- Green stormwater infrastructure
- Agricultural BMP partnerships
- Septic replacement and conversion programs
- Urban runoff reduction
- Tracking pollutant load reductions
SESSION 5: Building Stronger Partnerships for Large-Scale Impact
Focus on the collaborative side of implementation.

A communications and outreach session centered on making technical information actionable and understandable.

- Using social media and visualization tools
SESSION 9: Measuring Outcomes and Demonstrating Program Impacts
A session focused on performance metrics and demonstrating return on investment.

- Tracking acres restored versus ecological function
- Leveraging metrics and match reporting
- Success stories for funding support
Selected presenters will be assigned a presentation slot within the appropriate session. Presentations should emphasize practical applications, implementation strategies, lessons learned, and transferable approaches. Case
studies, demonstrations, and examples that can be adapted by other NEPs are strongly encouraged.
Authors will be notified regarding acceptance and presentation details following the review process. Additional information regarding presentation length, slide submission deadlines, and meeting logistics will be provided to
selected speakers.
