(2005 – present, ongoing) – For several decades Black Skimmers and other waterbirds have attempted to nest in Rockport Beach Park and the small islands of Little Bay.  The intensity of human visitation and recreational activity has created an ever-shifting series of urban/wildlife interface challenges for the City of Rockport and the Aransas Navigation District.  We have been working closely with these partners and other stakeholders to strike a balance between the pressures introduced by human presence and the ecological needs of the birds.
